Snow Day and Easy Street Part 5

My plan for Friday was foiled by Blizzard 2012.  My original plan was to take the kids to school on Thursday and head out and finish my Christmas shopping, and then on Friday, take the kids to school, wrap presents and spend the rest of the day sewing.  A blizzard and being snowed in with kids was not in the plan.   I didn't get my shopping done, I didn't get any wrapping done.  Double snow days right before Winter break, the kids were thrilled!

Here is what it looked like when I went to bed, school had already been cancelled for the next day because of high winds and anticipated blowing snow:

Here is how I spent my day, bundling kids up so they could go outside to play:

 


















Only to have them come in about 6 minutes later, toss off all of their outerwear, leave puddles of melted snow on the floor, and request hot chocolate and cookies to warm up.

When they finally settled in and started watching movies, I was able to get started on Easy Street Part 5.


I am getting low on the turquoise, so I hope we won't need much more.

The units went together pretty fast.

I played with a couple settings with the parts we have completed, but it feels like we might be working on two different blocks.  We need more background and green steps...so we will see what Bonnie brings to us on Friday.
